Odysea Aquarium

Ben signed up to participate in a Spartan Sprint with a few of his co-workers down in Phoenix. We decided to take the family down for a mini vacation. Ben even asked off Friday and Monday so we could have a little extra time. 

While we were there we were able to check out the new Odysea Aquarium that recently opened.

Both of the girls enjoyed watching the fish swim around. Jo even tried to give a few of them a kiss.

Jocelyn also really enjoyed watching the little Crocodiles swim around. My favorite exhibit was one with hundreds of little clown fish that were all different colors, each one was so unique.

Jocelyn was the most excited about seeing the Penguins.

 However, once we finally got to them she only watched them for a short time and moved on. Her favorite by far was the Otters. We spent quite a bit of time watching them. We observed a short training session and she loved watching them eat. I unfortunately did not get any good pictures because they were so active swimming around and playing.

They did have a fun wall where the girls could see how they measured up to a penguin. Bridget was around the height of an African Penguin.

Jocelyn was about the size of a King Penguin.

After seeing all the animals on the top floor, the girls had some fun doing activities before going down to the bottom floor. They had a big water table and Jo got the front of her shirt nice and wet.

They also had a huge light-bright. Jocelyn did not want to move on after she discovered this. It took a while to convince her.

Bridget was a perfect little Angel, content watching all the kids play.

We headed on down to the bottom floor and watched a 3D movie.

They had an awesome living carousel where we got to spin around and see different tanks and have employees talk to us about the animals. We saw sharks, sea lions, and sea turtles. They had two sea turtles one was missing two of his fins and it was neat to watch it swim around. The other had a illness, called bubble butt, so he cannot dive and stay under the water so we saw him just bobbing around on the top attempting to swim down.

Jo was a really good girl, but started to get a little antsy after the carousel. So, we spent a short while watching the sharks, took a quick peek at the jelly fish and headed out. We sure had a blast!
