We went out to Missouri for Spring Break, the week before Jocelyn's birthday. The family threw Jocelyn a surprise birthday party. Britt made Jocelyn the perfect birthday cake that was pink and covered in sprinkles. It was a very nice party and it made her feel so special and loved.
We arrived back home from Missouri and celebrated Jocelyn's birthday the next day. It was a very calm birthday and we just stayed home, because of the Coronavirus starting to spread. We had a great time spending time together. Jocelyn wanted a pink cake and she got to open up a few presents.
She was also a good sport and did not give me a hard time that half of her presents were wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. She got to add to her hot wheels collections and got a new Spiderman outfit for her build a bear.
Jocelyn has had a great year. She has loved Kindergarten, her teacher, and has made a lot of new friends this year. She is also starting to be a great reader. She is excellent at sounding out words and has memorized a lot of sight words. She can read simple book to us now and we are so proud of her. Now we are in the midst of home school and she really has not gone outside in the last month. She has been taking the quarantine like a champ. She misses school but she is being a good sport. We are enjoying our extra time together. She LOVES to play games and is learning to play some new board games with the family such as Bohnanza and Qwixx. Her favorite game right now is a Shopkins make a recipe board game.
She is learning to play the Ukulele with Ben and can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Old McDonald Had a Farm. Jocelyn loves the outdoors. I still believe there is a possibility she may grow up to be an Entomologist. Along with bugs she loves animals, dirt, camping, swimming, riding her scooter, going to the lake, hiking, and playing in the backyard. She loves to be active and every time I go for a run she wants to come with me or if I do a workout she is doing it along with me.
She has always had such a kind heart and continues to be considerate of the world and those around her. She sees garbage on the ground and cleans it up. After doing so she lets us know that the world is sad when we treat it bad by throwing our garbage on the ground. But, that she do her part to help make it happy by cleaning up. At school there was a little boy in her class that was always picking on her. I told her if he was being mean to her that she did not have to play with him. She would tell me that he did not really have other friends and that sometimes he can be nice and she did not want him to feel left out.
Jocelyn is a great big sister to Bridget. She is really helpful with our new puppy, Winnie, and loves to play with her. Winnie and Bree lay down with Jocelyn and help her go to sleep most nights. Jocelyn still loves to cuddle, hold hands, and loves getting hugs. We love our beautiful, considerate, smart six year old girl and are proud to be her parents.
