Family Tradition

In September my family, minus John, was able to come down and spend a weekend with us. We had a full house! Sheena and her three children were in the guest room/office, and we set up two air mattresses out in the living room, one for Lisa and Travis and the other for my Mom and Dad. It may not have been the best for sleeping weekend, however, it was a blast!

As long as Ben and I live in Northern Arizona I think that this should be a family tradition.

Little Jo loved spending time with the family and warmed right up to everyone. Dieter was possibly Jo's favorite person to spend time with this weekend. She would stroke his hair and cheeks, she tried to give him big hugs and kisses.

She even wanted to hold him until I set Dieter on her lap and she realized that this baby weighs about the same amount as her. Dieter was a pretty good sport although I am 100% sure that he was not as big of a fan of Jo as she was of him.

We spent a good majority of our time out at the beach, however, we did get a chance to head on over the Visitors Center and walk along the bridge.

It was a little nerve wracking walking along the bridge with so many young children.

For the most part the girls were pretty good about holding onto their buddies hand. There was one point where Gretel escaped Grandma and Jo escaped from me which caused some panic and a collision, but, we all made it safely back to the car.

Jo enjoyed looking at the view.

I did as well, I sure do live in a beautiful place!

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing at home, watching frozen, playing with toys, and eating way too much delicious food.

My Mom did most of the cooking and dish washing. I was pretty spoiled.

We even kept the tradition of roasting hot dogs, and brats over the fire pit in the backyard.

Of course we couldn't forget the s'mores for Scarlett.
