While we were at Disneyland in September, after going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Jocelyn informed us that she wanted to be a ghost pirate for Halloween this year. We found this cute costume for her and Jocelyn got to wear it to her Halloween preschool party, our ward chili cook off, and for Halloween.
She was so cute in her costume and loved walking around singing, "Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me."
On Halloween, Daddy made sure that Jocelyn got her wish and she informed us that she was no longer a "cute pirate"...she was a "scary ghost pirate". She was so excited and kept talking about how she was going to scare all the kids. While we were out trick or treating a little boy walking past Jocelyn exclaimed, "Aah, you're scary!" Jocelyn giggled in delight.
Since Bridget had no preference on her costume, I had her be a fairy because: #1 we already had the dress and #2 she looks absolutely adorable in it.
All we needed to get her were some fairy wings.
Let me tell you, once we put on those fairy wings this girl would not hold still for a picture. She was too busy flying around the room.
Daddy even got in on all the Halloween fun and was really hoping to win his Halloween costume contest at work. He was pretty bummed he only took second place.
As for me I was the party pooper in the family. No costume for me...I was just a mom who got to shower that day!
In Page, trick or treating is from 4-6PM and everyone that participates typically sits outside their driveway and passes out candy. We went to a different area of town this year and it was a little less crowded. There were some awesome decorations, a mini haunted house, as well as a scary guy dressed up wearing stilts who made all the kids cry.
The girls got a ton of candy! Bridget held onto her pumpkin the entire time we were out trick or treating and would not let go for anything. Ben and I tried to hold it for her a few times because we were worried it was too heavy for her. We were unsuccessful in providing any help, she had the death grip on the handle and would not let go! She would get upset if we even helped her just hold the handle along with her. So, instead we just settled for holding her when she looked tired.
Jocelyn and Bridget inspected all their candy when they got home and enjoyed a few pieces.
It was an awesome Halloween!
