A Visit to a Zoo!

Ben did another Spartan race in Phoenix in February. We made a weekend of it and went down as a family. We recently discovered that Phoenix has more than one zoo. While we were down there we went over to check it out the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. We had fun watching the seals swimming and even got to watch a short show where they interact with their trainers.

After the show we dropped the seals a fish.

The Zoo was awesome. It had a pretty large aquarium with tons of fish, otters, seals, sting rays, and turtles.

Bridget liked to look at the giant lobster and then run away with a little scream.

We were able to see a lot of animals. Our favorite part about this zoo was how interactive you got to be with the animals.

We had the chance to not only feed the seals but, we also got to feed the giraffes.

Both the girls really enjoyed feeding them.

They did not want to leave the giraffes.

As we were saying goodbye pretty sure the giraffe was trying to talk to us to tell us not to leave. That our he made a silly face at us because he wanted some new people to come along who didn't drop half of its food down to the ground.

They had a few baby animals the girls enjoyed watching.

We came across a huge cage full of tons of cute squirrel monkeys. We sat and watched them for a while. They liked the attention and would all climb on the enclosure to "talk" with us. We watched a monkey fight that reminded Ben and I of Jocelyn and Bridget's sibling fights. 

 Bridget's number one fight move is to come from behind and yank Jocelyn's hair. I even got to capture this shot an hour or so after the monkey fight.

Unfortunately, we stayed and watched the monkeys a little too long. One monkey that was right in front of Jocelyn's face pooped picked it right out of its butt and then preceded to eat it. Jocelyn then brought up this unfortunate incident on and off the entire rest of the zoo trip. 

Luckily, there were some other cute monkeys eating normal things like fruit that provided a temporary distraction.

We ended the day at the petting zoo.

They had goats, deer, and alpaca.

The girls enjoyed feeding the animals.

Bridget almost feed the animals one of her shoes and later as I was looking through pictures I realized one tried to have her diaper for dinner.

One they closed the petting zoo Bridget had a handful of food she had feed holding onto. A little friend came over and finished it off for her.

We had a ton of fun with all the animals at the zoo and they girls loved it!
