We went to the rodeo grounds on Pioneer day with Jessie, Mark, and Shannon. We decided not to go to the rodeo because we did not know if the girls would stay interested for the entire show. However, we had a fun time enjoying all the activities before the rode. The girls favorite section was the pioneer Native American games. They got to color on rocks, make necklaces, run around on stilts, and play a game where you throw the arrows into a circle.
Jocelyn and I did pretty good on the stilts. Ben struggled a little!

The girls also had fun sitting in the tepee. After enjoying some games we got to try some lavender lemonade and Jocelyn got a crown made out of lavender from Young Living. We were able to watch a few jousting matches and some mutton busting. One of the jousting knights gave Jocelyn a rose. She was so excited. It was a good thing we snapped a picture of it because shortly after she got it Bridget ripped all the pedals off her rose. It just broke Jocelyn's little heart. Sometimes having a little sister is rough.
Of course the girls favorite activity of the evening was riding the ponies. They each got to pick which pony they wanted to ride on. Bridget loved leaning over and giving her horse a few pets as she rode.
Jocelyn picked one of the smallest ponies to ride.
Of course after riding a real horse they had to ride the pretend horses on the carousel to end the night.
We were surprised by how many activities there were to do. We got there early enough that we beat the crowd and got to do most everything. It was a lot of fun!
