The first Friday in November, the start of Page's annual Balloon Regatta, Jocelyn was getting ready for preschool and we heard the familiar sound of a hot air balloon flying over the top of our house. We peeked out our front door to find the sky around our house surrounded in hot air balloons.
The girls were so excited to see all the balloons. We even got to watch one of them land in the street by our house.
The Balloon Regatta festival lasts all weekend long. It is one of our favorite weekends in Page. As long as there is no wind, we get to watch the hot air balloons fly in the air Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Then Saturday night, we get to walk along main street with the hot air balloons lined up, glowing in the night. This Balloon Regatta, there was very little wind and so we had an awesome weekend.
Bridget and I had to take Jocelyn to preschool. After we dropped her off, Bridget wanted to see more hot air balloons. So, the two of us drove around town and watched them land in parking lots and parks.
Ben was out of town for a soccer game on Saturday morning. The girls and I woke up and headed over to the golf course. That is where the majority of the balloons are launched and we wanted to watch them take off. Unfortunately, a big group of the balloons were taking off as we pulled in.
Luckily, there were a few slow hot air balloons still setting up and getting ready to launch. There was a little bit of wind picking up. So, some of them blew up and then decided not to go. The girls still had fun watching.
Before we left the girls had to roll down the grassy hill a few times. Jocelyn was really good at rolling down. Bridget would run part way, then roll once or twice, and then scoot on her bottom to the bottom of the hill. It is fun watching these girls giggle and find joy in the simple things. We sure had a nice morning.
