Camping in Flagstaff Arizona

The beginning of June, Ben and I were signed up for a Terrain Race obstacle 5K. We had ran a Terrain Race in Flagstaff before but they switched up the course this time and it was pretty difficult. There were a lot of hills and we were basically running on a fairly narrow hiking trail. We completed our race and then the girls got to go over and run theirs. It was Bridget's very first obstacle race and she earned her own medal and T-shirt. She was very proud of herself. She was one of the last to finish but she ran the whole way. Jocelyn did awesome and finished it pretty quickly.
We ended up spending two nights in Flagstaff at the KOA. We had a great time staying their. It was nice and cool, we had a ton of tree at our camping site, and they had lots of activities for the girls. The favorite was the large jumping pillow.
The girls loved just being outside and playing in the dirt and the hammock. They do a very good job keeping themselves entertained. One evening after dinner we walked over to the playground and let the girls play for a while.
The playground equipment was fun. They had tree logs set up for the girls to balance on and tree stumps for them to jump across and they had a great time playing on them.
We headed back from the playground and started a fire to roast some marshmallows. Jocelyn and Bridget love sharing scary stories around the fire. We all had to share a story. The girls stories are pretty creative and we have fun listening to them. Their stories are all about monsters that want to eat you, noises in the deep dark forest that keep getting closer to you, and getting lost in the woods. The second night the girls were pretty exhausted and they went to sleep pretty quickly. The next morning we packed up and headed home. Our camping trips have been so fun this year and we are looking forward to planning more in the future!
