Grand Canyon

Tammy, Jessie, and Jessie's boyfriend, Johnson came down for a weekend at the end of March. On Sunday after church, we decided to head over to the Grand Canyon for the afternoon. It was a pleasant drive and we were able to spend a few hours walking around the overlooks. The last time that I went to the Grand Canyon was with Sheena, John, and their kiddos. Jo was along for the ride, but couldn't really enjoy much since she was a fetus. This time around she was able to see everything and baby girl #2 was along for the ride.

Our first stop was the Watch Tower. Jo loved climbing to the top and looking out the window at the view. She pointed out the water to us and talked about how it looked like a snake.
At each viewpoint after that she would ask us to go find the snake water.
The artwork was beautiful inside.
After exploring the inside Jo had fun running around the outside. She excitedly pointed out rock after rock. She was especially enthusiastic if it was a "big rock." She also enjoyed counting them as she would "run fast" down the path.
She enjoyed running from big rock to big rock along the path hiding from us. As we would get close she would pop out or look up and shout "Peek-OO".

After visiting a few more viewpoints, we headed over to the Visitor's Center.
Jo was able to adopt a Mountain Lion. After walking around the Visitor's Center, we were able to catch the sunset from a spectacular view.
On the way back to the car Little Jo had to run the whole way. At one point her legs kept giving out, Ben asked her repeatedly if she would like to be carried. Her answer each time was a resounding no; she wanted to keep running fast. Ben held her hand while they ran ahead to help her as she sprinted all the way back to the car.
