It has been really fun lately to watch Jo play. She is a great tower builder and also has quite the imagination.
Lately Jo has told Ben and I that she has a little mouse that is her friend. She holds him in her hand and pets him. They run around and chase each other around the house. When we put her down for a nap or for bed she will sometimes say, "Oh little Mouse" and bend down and pick him up to rock with us.
Aunt Jessie came down to visit over Labor Day Weekend and her dog, Roxy, was sitting on the ground biting her paws. Just a few minutes before Roxy sat down, Jo had talked about her little mouse and pointing to the exact spot where Roxy decided to sit. She became very distraught and burst into tears when she saw Roxy biting her paws thinking that that was her poor little mouse. "My mouse" she cried out, "Oh no." I quickly replied that Little Mouse had come up to sit with me on the couch and held out my empty hand to show her. She quickly stopped crying and replied, "Thank you Mom, I happy now."
Lately Jo has expanded her animal friends. She likes to catch pigs and foxes and take them to her Dad. She also found a baby lizard the other day and was carrying it around. None of them hang around for very long, and little mouse will show up again. This girl sure has a great imagination.
