Museum Of Natural Curosity at Thanksgiving Point

On Monday, Ben and I decided we wanted to check out the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. We had heard a lot of really great things about it and it definitely lived up to all the hype. It was awesome!
Our first stop was checking out landscapes and natural disasters. We built a log house and watched what happened to it with the different magnitudes of earthquakes.
The girls got to stand in a little Tornado simulator.
One of Jocelyn's favorites was standing in the wind tunnel. The wind speed got up to 85mph. It took our breath away!  Jocelyn wanted to keep going in over and over.

Bridget's favorite area by far was the Water Works Exhibit.

The girls had fun splashing around. This baby table was great! Bridget played in it for quiet some time. Jocelyn lost interest after a little while and wanted to go check out what else was around, but Bridget was content to just keep on splashing.
They had a water table that had sandbags so you could dam off the water to control where it went. Jocelyn had the water go to only one exit on the table and then built a ramp for the water to run down.
After splashing around and getting pretty wet. We all stepped back into the wind tunnel to dry off a bit or as Jocelyn would say, "we got blowed off."

The next section we went to was the Rainforest.
This was by far Jocelyn's favorite! She would have played an entire day alone just in this section. She got to climb, run, slide, and swing in the jungle gym.
While Ben, Jocelyn, and Jessie were doing the big kid stuff. Bridget and I went over to the baby area and Bridget was in heaven playing with balls and walking around. She loved this little tunnel she could crawl into. There were little pictures inside that would light up.
We also discovered that our little Bridget is not quite so little anymore, she weighs a whooping 45,450 grasshoppers!
There was also a trading post in the rainforest exhibit. Earlier that morning Jocelyn, Ben and my Mom had collected items for Jocelyn to trade it at the museum. On a piece of paper Jocelyn described what they were, and drew pictures of each of the items. When she traded in her items she collected points and use those points to pick something out to take home. She picked out a red, preserved bug and a magnifying glass. She was pretty excited about it!
It was pretty difficult to convince Jocelyn to leave the rainforest. However, once she saw the next exhibit had a ball bit of "red blood cells" she did not mind anymore. She was in heaven!
That is until some little boy came over and started chucking balls as hard as he could right at Jocelyn's face. I told him not to throw balls at my daughter, he then screamed at me, "Don't say that to me" followed by a nasty glare. I gave that glare right back and told him if he could not play nice he could not play in the ball pit at all. He immediately left and I saw him head over to his mom. I was fully prepared to talk to his mother if she were to come and say something to me, however she never did. Later the little boy returned, but was much more pleasure the second time around. He did continue to glance my way to see if I was going to say anything more to him.
After I resolved that disturbance my girls continued to play and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The last exhibit that we had time to see with Kidopolis, a little mini city. They had a magic shop, a dance studio, a health and a fitness room. Bridget got to hear her heart beat when she held onto the bar.

They had a laundromat with a washer and dryer and also a large bubble maker.

There was a puppet show room, a lego room, and a music room.
The area that the girls played in for the longest period of time in Kidopolis was the garden.
They had a wheelbarrow that the girls would push and collect vegetables from the garden. They then would wheel it over to a wall that had a few rabbits along it with their mouths wide open.
The girls would stick the vegetables into the rabbits mouth and it would talk and tell them what vegetable they had just placed through the hole and what color it was.
We did not have time to visit the outside play exhibit because we had plans to have dinner with Brad and Shay. at their new house. So, we will just have go back to the Museum another time!
We did collect our ice cream cone that came with our admission on the way out.
Bridget took a bite of Jessie's and made the most hilarious face with every bite. However, even though she appeared to not be enjoyed it with each bite, she continued to  go back for more. I think she ate at least half of Jessie's ice cream cone.
We sure had a great time!
